Division Controller / Sr. Accounting Manager (m/f/d)

Activities

  • Human Resources: Assist in the HR function for the organization, conduct new employee orientation process, administer monthly payroll, maintain employee benefit provider agreements, record all payments, maintain all employee information and file in a confidential manner, manage all short-term accounting staff
  • Banking: Maintain and reconcile all bank accounts, complete all international money wiring activities and report financial activity
  • Payables: Manage the posting of all payables and receivables, print checks for all domestic expenses, secure check signatures, maintains financial security and maintain payables electronic files, spreadsheets, reports, and history
  • Receivables: Manage the process of receivables and collections, reconcile sales orders with payments received, ensure tracking and communication weekly of collection issues 30, 60, 90 days out and devise payment plans and involve legal means when necessary to collect payments
  • Tax & Property: Collect and record data for calculating and payment of Sales & Use Tax for organization according to state and federal requirements, manage and record depreciation of capital, and fixed asset changes in tax status, manage local and remote lease agreements, oversee the maintenance of the inventory of all fixed assets
  • Month-End: Compile month end data to document AR Aging, AP aging, Inventory Valuation Report, General Ledger, Balance Sheet, Comparative Income Statement, and Standard Income Statement. Receive review approval and submit to CPA for review and approval, then forward the DURAG GmbH
  • Inventory: Lead the organizations efforts to conduct period inventory of supplies and parts, and cycle counting on a regular basis to achieve a goal of 98% inventory accuracy and guide implementation of an inventory and warehousing process/system across all product lines within SAP

Requirements

  • Completion of a 4-year degree with an emphasis in Accounting or Business and 7-10 years related experience
  • OR a sufficient combination of a 2-year degree from a business college or university in combination with 10-15 years related experience
  • OR a sufficient combination of continuing education, certifications or training, plus work experience
  • Experience in the financial reporting/general ledger, tax, audit, banking, payroll, IT, and inventory areas of business
  • Strong emphasis on SAP ERP accounting functions and report generation to support accounting activities on a daily basis
  • PC and Microsoft product suit proficient and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting
  • Strong experience with Microsoft Excel and the ability to create data analysis and graphs to support financial performance, experience with Business Warehouse and SAP report generation a plus
  • Knowledge of various accounting systems a plus (Peachtree, QuickBooks, Oracle, etc.)
  • Ability to learn new duties and adjust to new situations encountered on the job
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal, supervisory and customer service skills required
  • Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and meet deadlines required

Management Activity

  • Working Conditions: This position includes work completed in an office environment. Because the DURAG Group supports customers in domestic and international locations, contact with customers may need to be conducted outside of the traditional, U.S. Monday through Friday, 8am-5pm workday
  • Physical Requirements: This position may require use of a computer monitor for most of the workday
  • Direct reports: This position may supervise Accounting Assistants and temporary staff
